Per emerging reports, Japan-based automobile firm, Nissan has filed for four new Web3 service trademarks in the United States. In its new filing to the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO), the firm intends to design digital apparel, tickets, trading cards, and many others. Also, the filing includes plans to establish an NFT marketplace for trading and minting.

Meanwhile, Nissan’s latest effort came behind the launching of its “Hype Lab” last week. Recall that the firm announced that it’ll set up a three-month program in the metaverse that’ll see people study, consult, test drive and acquire its vehicles digitally. Also, the announcement indicated that through the program, Nissan will consider new marketing systems for its cars.

However, with the recent development, Nissan seems to be taking another step to advance its exploits in the metaverse. This new effort has some similarities with the Nissan Hype Lab program. According to the new filing, the automobile brand will use the metaverse for advertising purposes.

Now, the focus will extend to other entertainment services that cover numerous virtual initiatives. These initiatives are Video, Image, Artwork, Tickets, Audio, Music and many others. Further, The filing also includes the creation of a website with needed details about the firm’s NFT collection that’ll manifest soon. These details will explain the program ideology behind the NFTs collection and how they function.

Other automotive brands with similar NFTs pursuit like Nissan

With the latest development, Nissan will join automobile firms like Renault, Hyundai, and Bentley to embrace Web3 initiatives. According to a Binbits report, last year, Renault partnered with Sandbox to design virtual ways of testing its vehicles in the Metaverse. The initiative has similar traits to Nissan’s Hype Lab.

More so, Bentley launched a limited 208 NFT Pieces on the Polygon network in September 2022. The collection is in recognition of the Automobile brand’s super fast car Continental GT speed. The launching of the collection opened the pathway to Bentley’s advancement into the Web3 space.

Another Binbits report dated April 18, 2022, indicated that Hyundai motors collaborated with Meta Kong NFT to launch an exclusive collection with 30 pieces. With Nissan joining the trend, the NFTs space advancement will attain a new height. Therefore, pushing the sphere to gain more recognition across numerous fields, while boosting its popularity.
