Ethereum-based metaverse game, The Sandbox has announced an investment agreement with Index Game, a metaverse agency. The gaming platform confirmed the development in a Twitter post on its handle on Monday. Reportedly, the agreement will see The Sandbox invest about US$1.7 million in the Index game.
As revealed, Index game will harness the investment to sustain its exceptional development in the metaverse space. More so, Index intends to also enhance its NFTs, GameFi, and Web3.0 projects so as to initiate play-to-earn content. This, according to the platform, tends to widen the possibilities of the interconnected digital realm.
Notably, Index Game was appointed as a metaverse agency by The Sandbox to develop experiences for its decentralized metaverse. Now, the platform is led by Becky Wong and Joe Lau. With the latest development, Index became the first Hong-Kong-based firm to obtain investment from The Sandbox. Reportedly, The Sandbox will increase the funding to US$6 million by 2023. Similarly, the metaverse game platform intends to also avail Index Game with exclusive arrangement for IPs initiated in the course of the partnership.
Founded in 2021, Index Game has reportedly partnered with about 17 popular brands and IPs. The partnerships, as believed, were geared towards building remarkable projects on The Sandbox. More so, these brands and IPs include Adrian Cheng, Sun Hung Kai & Co, Ocean Oark, Hang Seng Bank, Fine Art Asia, and a host of others. Now, the metaverse agency has also developed about four robust experiences on The Sandbox. Also, these include the South China Morning Post’s inaugural metaverse experience of Hong Kong Star Ferry Pier, Kowloon Walled City: The City of Darkness on the 1970s in Hong Kong, Hanjin Music Palooza:Ghe Monstruous Multicolor Guitar, which reportedly features Chinese musician, Hanjin Tan.
The Sandbox aiding metaverse development with investments and partnerships
According to findings, The Sandbox, has continued to indulged in a series of partnerships and investments to aid metaverse development. Recently, it reportedly collaborated with the biggest amusement park in South Korea, LOTTE WORLD. Notably, the partnership helps to enable The Sandbox harness the content IP licenses of LOTTE WORLD in the initiation of worldwide NFT games.
Also, the gaming platform intends to use the partnership with LOTTE WORLD to offer numerous user experiences. Furthermore, it assures metaverse game users of real-world and virtual world experiences. Reportedly, one of such experiences includes personal invitations for metaverse users.
