Chiliz partners SBI to expand sports fan token economy in Japan

Popular web3 infrastructure for sports and entertainment, Chiliz has partnered with SDI Digital Asset Holding to bring leading fan tokens to enthusiasts in Japan. The firm made the announcement today via a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) page. 

In the post, the firm established that the collaboration would be a venture partnership. With that, the two partners will work on ensuring that football enthusiasts gain easy access to fan tokens of some popular football clubs. Some of these clubs are Paris Saint Germain, Arsenal, AC Milan, Manchester City, FC Barcelona and Inter Milan. 

More so, Chiliz will leverage the partnership to enhance its global operations and network to aid football fans in Japan to be part of global communities of popular clubs. To fast-track this development, the firm will rely on the support of the SBI group which has more than 50 million customers. 

Furthermore, as a result of the partnership, SBI will become a node operator of the Chiliz chain. Consequently, the firm will become an integral part of the Chiliz web3 ecosystem and contribute to its governance. Also, the collaboration will as well focus on making the Chiliz Chain a prominent blockchain network for developers and firms in Japan that are aiming to design web3 products and services. 

How Chiliz Focuses on Using SportFi to Bridge the Gap Between Crypto and Global Sport 

Recall that in May 2023, Chiliz went live on mainnet with the aim of using its web3 infrastructure to encourage interaction between fans and their favorite sporting clubs.

 In 2022, the firm collaborated with the organizers of the Ballon d’Or, one of the most prestigious football awards. According to a Binbits report, the partnership is targeted at enhancing the adoption of blockchain in the football and sporting landscape. 

Meanwhile, Chiliz is the blockchain network that pioneered the development of Socios.com and its virtual fan token sports ecosystem. So far, Socios using Chiliz has established a good relationship between sports teams and their fans globally. 

Numerous teams and sporting brands have embraced Chiliz to establish an engaging virtual community. It is worth mentioning that the Chiliz has a native token; $CHZ that allows users to enjoy a new generation of experiences, products, and services. 

According to Coinmarketcap, the $CHZ token is presently trading at $0.01218. In the last 30 days, the token has plummeted by 21.65% and is about -83.32% short of its all-time high of $0.915.
