Newcastle United, Quidd join forces to strengthen fans’ engagement

A digital collectibles and NFT marketplace subsidiary of Animoca Brands, Quidd has partnered with popular English professional football club, Newcastle United. According to a blog post by Animoca Brands on Wednesday, Quidd and Newcastle United signed a multi-year partnership deal. The deal will see the NFT marketplace become the first official digital collectible partner of Newcastle.

The collaboration underlines the growing synergy between web3 firms and professional football clubs. In the past, we’ve seen numerous initiatives involving professional football clubs, tournaments, and blockchain firms. The latest development underlines how web3 firms have continued to establish their presence in the sporting arena.

More so, with the partnership, Newcastle United fans across the globe will have the opportunity to design and trade collections of officially licensed digital trading cards. This exclusive privilege will also see them create digital video moments and virtual memorabilia on Quidd. 

Also, supporters of the English Premier League club can leverage the collaboration to unlock a number of exclusive experiences. As part of the partnership, the inaugural series of limited-edition Newcastle United digital trading cards will be launched on the Quidd marketplace. 

According to the announcement, the virtual trading cards will become available by March 28, 2024. Don’t forget that the collection came into reality as a result of a partnership with Leaf, a leading sports trading card company. Likewise, the inaugural collection is targeted at being affordable for all types of fans and collectors irrespective of their budget. 

Side Note on the Collaboration Between Newcastle United and Quidd

Popular figures like the Chief Commercial Officer of Newcastle United, Peter Silverstone provided more details on the partnership between the club and Quidd. In his submission, the executive disclosed that Quidd is the ideal partner for the club’s first-ever, officially licensed, digital collection. 

Additionally, Peter Silverstone discussed the need for Newcastle United to find an innovative way of building strong connections with the supporters of the club. Further, the executive underlined that creating a connection with the fans is essential, especially how Newcastle United has grown to become a global brand. 

Lastly, Peter Silverstone stated that the collaboration with Quidd will allow the club to reach, and engage, its supporters through an exciting digital collection project. The Chief Executive Officer of Quidd, Michael Bramlage also reacted to the collaboration. 

The CEO explained how collecting football stickers and cards is deeply embedded in the culture of the sport. Similarly, Michael Bramlage revealed that Quidd is using technology to transform the football collecting experience. The CEO concluded that the collaboration between Newcastle United and Quidd is a game changer.
