YZi, formerly Binance Labs, has invested in Digital Asset, a dedicated platform for institutional-grade tools to build regulatory-compliant projects. The investment firm disclosed this on Thursday through its official page on X.
In the announcement, YZi disclosed that the investment is part of the $135 million Series E fundraising round announced by Digital Asset on June 24, 2025. As indicated, top financial institutions like DRW, Tradeweb, DTCC, Citadel Securities, and Goldman Sachs participated in the funding round.
Furthermore, the firm said joining the investment round underlines its commitment to enhancing institutional adoption. YZi Labs will continue to focus on infrastructures that are in line with the regulatory and operational standards of well-established markets.
The new funds will enable Digital Asset to expand the Canton Network’s infrastructure and onboard more institutional users. It is worth mentioning that Digital Asset is the firm behind Canton Network, a public layer 1 blockchain with configurable on-chain privacy.
As per the announcement, the network holds over $1.5 trillion in monthly tokenized US. Likewise, it will support the needed composability and interoperability to usher billions of dollars in real-world assets on chain.
Meanwhile, in the post, YZi said Digital Asset in the next 18 months plans additional live deployment from major financial players. The plan also includes improved interoperability between applications across nodes and more expansion into emerging global markets.
Executives’ insight into the investment effort
The Head of YZi Labs, Ella Zhang has reacted to the latest investment. According to the executive, the participation is a testament to how the investment firm is pushing to bring tokenized real-world assets into the financial mainstream.
More so, Zhang added that the company is glad to support the move to advance global institutional adoption. Accordingly, Yuval Rooz, co-founder and CEO of Digital Asset opined that the investment from YZi Labs reinforces the growing demand for blockchain infrastructure that aligns with global regulatory standards.
Similarly, Rooz said YZi Labs is a key partner in expanding Canton’s reach thanks to its track record in scaling emerging technologies. The CEO added that the backing of the investment firm will fast-track its pursuit of bringing more real-world assets on-chain.
Side note on YZi Labs

As part of the repositioning, the company expanded its investment support to Web3, AI, and Biotech. Heading the firm are Ella Zhang and Changpeng Zhao.
