PayPal, a well-known payment service provider, has announced the launch of its new product, an agentic commerce service— a set of solutions that help merchants attract customers. The payment provider confirmed this development in a blog post on Tuesday, adding that the product also helps merchants prepare for success in the new era of AI-powered commerce.
The agentic commerce service is designed to enable the first wave of commerce capabilities for the emerging world of AI-driven shopping. It is also built on PayPal’s trusted payment infrastructure, identity verification, and buyer protection.
The PayPal agentic commerce service includes an agentic payment solution, along with a catalog and order management system. This also help merchants seamlessly connect product data, inventory, and fulfillment with AI-driven discovery and checkout experiences.
PayPal to launch agent-ready and sync store
PayPal also plans to launch an agentic payment solution called “agent-ready.” This solution instantly enables the ability to accept payments on AI surfaces for millions of existing PayPal merchants. Additionally, it allows for fraud detection, buyer protection, and dispute resolution with no extra technical skills required. The system is also ready to give merchants new ways to become discoverable while offering flexible payment options.
PayPal is also launching another new product called Store Sync. As announced, this innovative tool allows merchants’ product data to become more discoverable within leading AI channels. It also enables seamless integration of orders with existing fulfillment and management systems. Key benefits of Store Sync for merchants include quick setup and enhanced product visibility. Others also include higher conversion rates, preservation of customer insights and relationships, and compatibility across multiple platforms.
Michelle Gill, the GM of Small Business and Financial Services at PayPal, shared insights on the launch, describing AI as the driving force behind the next wave of innovation in how payments are made and managed. Gill explained that the agentic commerce service supports major payment protocols and AI platforms, directly linking PayPal merchants to millions of consumers who now rely on agent platforms for their everyday shopping needs.
