Popular crypto asset manager, Grayscale has announced a giant first of its kind industry Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE). In a press release on Monday, the asset manager also announced that its Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETF have also become the first U.S listed spot crypto ETPs to enable staking.

In the press release, Gray added that its Solana Trust (OTCQX: GSOL) have also activated staking, thereby giving investors one of the only ways to access SOL staking through traditional brokerage accounts. Upon the regulatory approval of GSOL’s uplisting as an exchange-traded product, it expected to become one of the first spot Solana ETPs with staking.

The company noted that both ETHE and ETH are exchange-traded products that are not registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940. According to Grayscale, this is because the products are not subject to the same regulations and protection as 40 Act-registered ETFs and mutual funds.

Grayscale also offers investors exposure to the long-term value accrual when they stake across its Ethereum and Solana products. As revealed, both ETHE and ETH provide Ether exposure, while GSOL provides spot Solana exposure.

Peter Mintzberg, the Chief Executive Officer at the digital asset firm has reacted to the launch. He emphasized that Grayscale’s spot Ethereum and Solana funds showcase the company’s innovative approach through their staking feature. He added that as the leading digital asset-focused ETF issuer globally, ranked by AMU, Grayscale has positioned itself to transform opportunities like staking into tangible benefits for investors.

In addition, Grayscale plans to stake passively through institutional custodians and a diversified network of validator providers. This will also help secure underlying protocols while supporting long-term network resilience. In addition, the digital asset firm is also focused on investor education by recently publishing Staking 101. Grayscale further revealed its commitment to securing blockchain and earning rewards. As the digital asset ecosystem continues to evolve, Grayscale also plans to extend staking to additional products while leading with education, transparent reporting, and investor-first practices.
