Renowned cryptocurrency exchange, Crypto.com has partnered with Song Electronics (Singapore ) Pte.Ltd. (SES) to facilitate the acceptance of USDC, a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin as a payment method exclusively on Sony Store Online. The exchange confirmed the development in a blog post today, stating that the initiative would allow SES consumers to make direct payment using cryptocurrency.

It is worth noting that SES is the first consumer electronics brand in Singapore to adopt USDC as a payment method. As revealed, this partnership also allows Crypto.com users to enjoy an optimized checkout experience via Sony Store Online through Crypto.com Pay.

Sony Electronics however announced its intention to expand to other cryptocurrencies in the nearest future. This move, as revealed by SES aims to empower consumers to make purchases directly with their crypto balances on Sony Store Online.

Crypto.com users to enjoy promotional rewards

To celebrate the partnership, SES has also offered two exciting tiers of promotions to Crypto.com users. The first tier of the promotion rewards 50 users who used Crypto.com Pay to shop on the Sony store online with a minimum of $300 with a free LinkBuds Speaker. The second tier also rewards 150 eligible users who spend a minimum of $100 at the Sony store online using Crypto.com Pay with 20 USDC credited to their Crypto.com account.

Crypto.com Singapore General Manager, Chin Tah Ang has reacted to the partnership. The GM noted that the exchange is pushing to ensure crypto payment becomes a mainstream method of payment. Tah Ang added that partnering with SES further highlights the ease and simplicity that come with using crypto to pay for everyday goods and services. The crypto.com exec believes that adding the new method of payment will also broaden Sony Electronics’ customer base.

Over the years, the cryptocurrency payment method has continued to gain momentum, attracting tevy-savvy consumers across the globe. With over 140 million users in 90 countries, Crypto.com has established itself as one of the largest and fastest-growing cryptocurrency exchange. In December 2024, the exchange also entered a Memorandum Of Understanding with a pioneer Islamic financial firm in UAE, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB).
