The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, Binance, has launched a relief voucher for users affected by the flood in Bahia Blanca, Argentina. The exchange made the disclosure on Tuesday via a post on its official X page.
According to Binance, users affected by the tragedy can access a $100 BNB token voucher through their account. The exchange went on to explain that the voucher would help users to get some basic needs due to their inability to access the existing banking system.
With the voucher, Binance narrated that victims of the flood can access low-cost and fast payment settlements. The exchange went on to narrate how cryptocurrency has helped during difficult periods to ensure victims of some disasters remain connected to the global financial system.
More so, Binance narrated how it unveiled similar initiatives in countries like Brazil, Mexico, Ukraine, Turkey, Libya, Morocco, Taiwan, and Italy. However, the cryptocurrency exchange said victims of the flood in the Bahia Blanca region of Argentina must fulfill certain procedures to claim the voucher.
As indicated, Binance said the distribution of the relief items will be based on the Proof of Address (POA) completed before March 18, 2025. By that, users must have provided an address before the cutoff date stating they reside in Bahia Blanca.
Meanwhile, the exchange said most of its users in the region are yet to complete their POA. Hence, Binance said users can still provide their address before April 1, 2025, only that they’ll receive $25 in BNB instead.
