Animoca Brands launches AnimeFDN to bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3

Today, game software company, Animoca Brands, Animoca Brands Japan, San FranTokyo and MyAnimeList entered a strategic partnership to launch Anime Foundation. The game software company made the disclosure in a post on its official X page.

Prior to this strategic partnership, Animoca Brands Japan had earlier invested JPY¥300 million into MyAnimeList. Anime Foundation is a collectively-owned cultural protocol for anime and manga covering both Web2 and Web3. As revealed, the partnership is geared towards creating new opportunities and experiences for fans, studios, IP holders, creators and anime and manga inspired projects and brands globally.

To facilitate the launch, Anime Foundation will collaborate with Mocaverse to provide facilities for onboarding anime fans. It will also leverage Mocaverse recently announced Realm Network interoperable SDK to launch Anime ID, a decentralized identifier (DID) and reputable layer for users.

In addition, the foundation plans to unite traditional anime, the manga industry, and Web3-native communities. It seeks to promote fans’ experience and empower global anime and manga culture. Also, the foundation would leverage Anime ID to develop new monetization models and community-building initiatives based on blockchain technology.

Animoca Brands Japan and MyAnimeList plans to use their strong industry presence to attract talents and expertise from traditional anime and manga industry. San FranTokyo and Animoca also plan to leverage their web3 ecosystem and infrastructure to unlock new opportunities for fan engagement. Working with Mocaverse allows the foundation to launch Anime ID which enables fans to explore, contribute, and manage anime profiles.

Animoca Brands partners Hashkey Exchange

Last month, Animoca Brands entered a strategic partnership with HashKay Exchange to integrate blockchain technology into the virtual entertainment space. As revealed, the collaboration was aimed at using innovative technologies like smart contracts and zero-knowledge proof. In addition, the members of the public were also educated and informed about the dynamics of Web3.

Also in January, Animoca partnered with Chess.com to launch its Web3 game project, Anichess. The game avails players with an updated version of their favorite classic game. According to Animoca Brands, Anichess is a spellbinding game that on boards the core principles of chess.
