Fast-growing stablecoin-payment platform, RedotPay has collaborated with Ripple to launch a new feature “Send Crypto, Receive NGN.” Ripple confirmed the partnership on Tuesday through an official statement

According to the post, the new service will allow users to convert all kinds of digital assets into Nigerian naira. Moreover, the initiative enables users to receive naira directly into their local bank account.

As indicated, the service leverages Ripple Payments’ infrastructure and supports various digital assets, including USDC, USDT, BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, TRX, and BNB. The payment giant established that RLUSD is currently unavailable on the platform and will be added later.

Meanwhile, the feature is only available for verified RedotPay customers with local bank accounts. In the post, Ripple narrated how the innovation aims to address some of the bottlenecks in combating global remittance.

As indicated, the Send Crypto, Receive NGN will run 24/7 round the clock, ensuring seamless conversion of digital assets to NGN. More so, the solution leverages the institutional-standard blockchain network, promising fast and reliable payout.

With its near-instant transaction, RedotPay, by joining forces with Ripple, aims to redefine cross-border payments for customers seeking lower-cost and faster options.

Meanwhile, the CEO of RedotPay, Michael Gao in the statement said the firm is building stablecoin‑powered payments that make digital assets as easy to use as local currency. Gao mentioned how the solution allows users to send any cryptocurrency including stablecoins securely and receive NGN within minutes.

Likewise, the head of commercial, Asia Pacific of Ripple, Jack Cullinane opined that the synergy with RedotPay demonstrates the real-world utility of the firm’s licensed payments solution in solving the immense friction of global cross-border payments. Cullinane added that Ripple Payments makes sending money across borders faster, more reliable, and affordable for consumers and businesses alike.

Side note

It is worth mentioning that the Send Crypto, Receive NGN will further enhance the adoption of digital assets in Nigeria. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Nigeria’s cryptocurrency regulation, the West African country ranks high among the world’s most active countries in digital assets adoption.

Recall that in December 2024, the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) overhauled its crypto regulatory framework. Since then, regulators have maintained an enforcement approach to the sector, and have stiffened the standards around crypto marketing.

In 2025, one of the Nigerian government’s enforcement actions saw a lawsuit against the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, Binance. While detaining some top executives of the exchange, the Nigerian Authorities forced Binance to stop operating within its territory.
