Blockchain-centric protocol Immutable is leaving no stone unturned to level up Web3 gaming experiences. In a Monday blog post, the protocol announced that it has launched a new functionality to simplify players’ experiences with Web3 games. This new feature, according to Immutable, will enable users to carry out in-game transactions without hindrance.

Immutable reflected on how the Web3 gaming world has encountered numerous disruptions but players still yearn for a feature that allows them to approve transactions within the game. Initially, players have to interact with wallets outside of games. Through this new feature, Immutable empowers developers to add transaction approvals into their gaming infrastructure.

With that, the protocol seeks to eliminate the stress involved in out-of-game transaction signing and confirmation. This, as revealed in the blog post, opens up industry-leading features, especially in-game item trading, crafting and marketplaces within the Web3 gaming ecosystem.

Immutable to break the barriers between traditional and blockchain gaming

At the time of writing, this new feature is currently limited to game-issued assets alone. However, in the future, Immutable hopes to add support for IMX, USDC, and ETH. By embracing a flexible posture, Immutable aims to break the barriers between traditional and crypto gaming. It believes the new functionality marks a major feat in its vision to deliver immersive and intuitive Web3 gaming.

Last year, the protocol unveiled its Passport wallet architecture, featuring Google and Apple log-in methods. This feature empowers users to create and recover their wallets through Google or Apple accounts.

Immutable says it wants to drastically reduce friction in Web3 interactions. With that, it believes developers will now be able to focus solely on building interactive gameplay elements, without worrying about blockchain complexities. This development ultimately brings best-in-class player experience.

That being said, Immutable says the implementation process of the new feature requires minimal technical overhead. It added that developers will be able to maintain full control over the transaction interface.
