Hong Kong to hosts 2024 Bitcoin conference

A popular lawmaker in Hong Kong, Johnny Ng has expressed the readiness of the city to host the next “Bitcoin Conference.” The conference which is usually held annually provides an avenue for all Bitcoin optimists across the globe to come together and share insights on the future of the innovation.

Johnny Ng describes Hong Kong as a special hub for cryptocurrencies, particularly Bitcoin. He is optimistic that the region will be the first in Asia to implement a sound regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies. By hosting what he described as the “largest fintech conference” in the world, the lawmaker feels Hong Kong is already actualizing its ambition to become a special center for virtual assets in the continent.

Since five years ago, the Bitcoin conference has become the biggest gathering of Bitcoin supporters across the globe. The previous one was held in Miami and was graced by a host of dignitaries across the industry.

2024 Bitcoin Conference to hold between May 9-10

Meanwhile, the next Bitcoin conference, according to findings, is scheduled to hold between May 9 and 10, 2024. Like the previous one, the conference will feature keynotes and panels from some of the notable names in the industry.

Aside that, it will also bring the Bitcoin community together with top projects and investors to build new relationships that will enhance the future of the industry. Developers will be able to showcase their projects to the world.

Bitcoin started 2024 on a good note, with the SEC granting approval to eleven ETF spot filings by hedge funds. According to a press release by the regulator, it approved the Bitcoin spot filings for the likes of Grayscale, Hashdex, Blackrock, VanEcK, Fidelity, BZX, and more.

Following the approval, some of these companies commence the trading of their respective Bitcoin ETF products. Experts consider this feat as a major win for Bitcoin and the crypto community at large. They believe the regulatory milestone will usher in more investments into the industry, thereby widening the popularity of Bitcoin.
